# Recipes

Formulas for common reports

Each recipe assumes registries in column A and registry IDs in column B, starting at row 2. Select **Examples** on the ribbon to see working versions of these in a new workbook.

## Ratings monitor

Show each project's Rating, its previous Rating, and when it changed.

```
=SYL.DATA("Name,Rating,Previous rating,Rating changed on",A2:A100,B2:B100)
```

One formula fills the whole table. A project whose Rating has never changed shows "No rating change".

## Monthly price report

Put report dates across row 1, starting in D1, and vintages in column C. Then in D2:

```
=SYL.PRICE_AT("price",$A2,$B2,$C2,D$1)
```

Fill it right and down. Each cell shows the closest price estimate on or before that date. Sylvera prices weekly, so the result never looks forward. Multiply by your holdings for a position value.

## Price history for a chart

```
=SYL.HIST("VCS","1477",,"2025-01-01","2025-12-31")
```

Returns dates and prices for the newest vintage. Add a vintage year as the last argument for a different one, then insert a line chart over the result.

## Credit volumes by vintage

```
=SYL.VOLUMES("VCS","1477")
```

Returns credits permitted, issued, retired, and cancelled for each vintage, newest first. For a single total per project in your own table, use fields instead:

```
=SYL.DATA("Issued credits,Retired credits",A2:A100,B2:B100)
```

## Top buyers of a project

```
=SYL.BUYERS("VCS","1477","2024-01-01",,10)
```

The 10 largest buyers since 1 January 2024, with credits retired, number of retirements, and first and last retirement dates.

## Market trends

```
=SYL.MARKET("issued,retired,cancelled","year",2017)
```

Credits issued, retired, and cancelled across the market each year since 2017. For a grid of project categories by year, which you can chart as a stacked column:

```
=SYL.MARKET("retired","project category,year",2017)
```

The **Market overview** sheet in **Examples** has both, driven by From and To year cells. See [Functions](/excel-add-in/functions.md) for every SYL.MARKET option.

## Every rated REDD+ project rated A or above

```
=SYL.TABLE("Name,Rating,Country","REDD+","AAA,AA,A")
```

For more filters, such as registry or On Watch, use **Screen** instead. See [Find and screen projects](/excel-add-in/find-and-screen-projects.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.sylvera.com/excel-add-in/recipes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
